The matcha whisk, or “Chasen”, is the essential element in a Japanese tea ceremony and in the preparation of whipped matcha tea.
The chasen whisk creates a fine, creamy foam, essential for releasing all the flavors and benefits of matcha. Its traditional shape ensures an authentic and homogeneous preparation.
The matcha whisk is made from a single piece of bamboo, of the “golden bamboo” variety, which guarantees a quality workmanship that will last for many years. It is a whisk with 100 threads, for a perfect emulsion of matcha tea.
Each whisk wire is handmade, piece by piece.

Usage Advice
Use with a Chawan (ceremonial bowl) and a Chashaku (matcha spoon). After pouring the tea powder over the hot water, whisk the mixture with the Chasen (matcha whisk) in a zigzag motion until a foam forms on the surface.
After each use, gently wash your whisk in clean water and let it dry. Then store it in its protective case, away from dust and any shocks. Do not use detergents.
Do not throw away the case. It has been specially designed to protect your whisk after each use.
