About the Tangerine Tree

The tangerine tree (Citrus reticulata) is a small fruit tree of the Rutaceae family, with an average height of 4 meters. It has evergreen, dense, intensely green foliage, forming a rounded and regular canopy. In spring, it is covered with delicately scented white flowers, which announce the fruits to come.

Adapted to mild climates, it appreciates light, well-drained soils rich in organic matter. It needs full sun exposure to bear fruit well. Cultivated mainly in the Mediterranean basin and in tropical regions such as Brazil, it can also adapt to cooler regions in pots, provided it is protected from frost during winter.
